We had a truly beautiful weekend stay at Main Street Inn B&B in Ste. Genevieve, MO. From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully considered. The hosts, Patrick and Susan, were wonderful—gracious, attentive, and genuinely hospitable—and Barney the dog was an added delight. The accommodation itself was excellent: immaculate throughout, with a clear sense of care and attention to detail in every space. The interiors are stunning, with beautiful antiques, plush hand-woven Persian-style rugs, and tasteful artwork all knit together with a modern flair that gives the whole house a refined but comfortable atmosphere. Small thoughtful touches throughout the stay made it feel especially comfortable and personal. Breakfast each morning was wonderful—fresh, generous, and beautifully prepared from ingredients many of which were locally sourced, sometimes as local as the garden out back! The evening wine and cheese hour was a highlight and a lovely way to unwind and meet other guests. The other visitors were also part of what made the stay memorable—a self-selecting group of interesting, friendly, and engaging people that added to the overall experience without ever feeling forced. A genuinely special place to stay - we hope to do so again and can easily recommend to others without hesitation.

Some places simply give you a bed for the night. The Main Street Inn in Ste. Genevieve Inn gives you an experience you’ll remember long after you’ve left. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. The inn is immaculate, comfortable, and filled with thoughtful touches that make it feel less like a hotel and more like the home of dear friends who happen to have impeccable taste. Susan’s eye for design is evident everywhere you look. Every room and every detail feels intentional, creating a warm, elegant atmosphere without ever losing its cozy charm. Then there are Patrick’s delightful penguins! They aren’t just decorations. They bring a sense of whimsy, personality, and smiles around every corner. By the end of our stay, we found ourselves looking forward to spotting the next one. They perfectly reflect the fun spirit of the inn and its owners. The location is ideal for exploring beautiful, historic Ste. Genevieve, but honestly, the inn itself became one of our favorite parts of the visit. Our stay here has been one of the highlights of our Great River Road adventure. We arrived expecting a wonderful place to spend the night and left feeling like we’d discovered a hidden treasure. Patrick and Susan have created something truly special, blending gracious hospitality, beautiful design, comfort, and just the right touch of playful charm. We will absolutely be back, and we wholeheartedly recommend the Main Street Inn in Ste.. Genevieve to anyone looking for more than just a place to stay. This is the kind of place that stays with you. Five enthusiastic stars! P.S. Breakfast was a wonderful and the Director of Hospitality, Barney, is always glad to greet you!🐕

With-in walking distance of most of the historic district. Patrick was very sociable and told great stories of the history. Had great recommendations for restaurants and places to see. Great rooms and very good breakfast served with wonderful stories. Easily get to mainstreet historic & shopping district and some very fine restaurants and ice cream shops. Hosted a happy hour with local delicacies and wine. Served a very fine breakfast that had homemade breads, local trimmings, warm dishes, and yogurt with fresh fruit.

We spent three relaxing nights back in time. Patrick was an amazing host and I could have listened to the stories and history of Ste Genevieve for hours! The room was beautiful and comfortable. We stayed in the Rendezvous Room and loved having access to the outside for ease of coming and going exploring. It was easy to get to and from shops and restaurants walking. Breakfast was filling and delicious and we felt so pampered. Barney, the hospitality manager, was the sweetest dog and enjoyed the attention. Wine and cheese in the afternoon led to interesting conversations and new friends. This bed and breakfast experience was the perfect balance of interaction and alone relaxing time. It felt like we joined long-time friends for a visit. The high-quality antique mall was a must and Stella and Me Cafe was delicious! And don't forget to ask Patrick about the penguins!

Historical

Ste. Genevieve

A historic destination and vibrant community, Ste. Genevieve is recognized as the oldest permanent settlement in the state of Missouri. French colonists living in the Illinois territory on the east side of the Mississippi crossed the river in 1735 and built homes along the fertile river bottom. Many of these homes from the late 1700s have been preserved. The National Park Service recognized the significance of these structures and have established the Saint Genevieve National Historic Park. All of these homes are within a short walking distance of our Inn.
