Relax on the Porch

Susan and I (Patrick) bought the historic Main Street Inn in 2016 — the same year we got married — and closed it for a full year to give it a proper renovation. We kept the building's original bones intact but replaced nearly all the furniture and repainted every surface, top to bottom. The goal was simple: preserve the Inn's 19th-century character while quietly updating it with the comfort and amenities today's guests expect.
Susan has practiced internal medicine and pulmonary disease in Ste. Genevieve for more than 30 years. I spent 40 years on the faculty at Loyola University Chicago's Stritch School of Medicine before retiring in 2020. Between the two of us, we've built a life they love in small-town Missouri — one that still leaves plenty of room for travel through Europe, especially trips back to Susan's native Ireland.
