Ste Genevieve County is home to a number of wineries located in the pastoral foothills of the Ozark mountains. A short drive from Main Street Inn Bed and Breakfast takes you to this scenic area where you can enjoy wine tastings along with lunch or dinner. Ste Genevieve is recognized as the oldest permanent settlement in the state of Missouri.

Ste Genevieve is recognized as the oldest permanent settlement in the state of Missouri.French colonists living in the Illinois territory on the east side of the Mississippi crossed the river in 1735 and built homes along the fertile river bottom. Many of these homes from the late 1700s have been preserved. The National Park Service recognized the significance of these structures and have established the Saint Genevieve National Historic Park. All of these homes are within a short walking distance of our Inn.
